Dear BOOT 95 User,
please be aware that the MSDOS.SYS file of Windows 95
in your C:\ directory is very sensitive to incorrect
changes. This is the reason why it usually is attributed
SHR.
I tested my utility on several systems without any errors
or faults. Nevertheless I give no warranty in any kind
for using BOOT95. With each change that you commit with
BOOT95 a backup file named MSDOS.SAV is created. If you
encounter any difficulties starting your system with your
changes you can restore the previous version from there
after booting with a floppy.
In some cases I experienced that the VB code was not able
to set the attributes for C:\MSODS.SYS to -s -r -h upon
starting Boot95. In that case you will realize that the changes
you do will not be applied to the file. In that case just set
the attributes of C:\MSDOS.SYS to -s -r -h manually. You
only need to do this once before using Boot 95 for the first time.
George Lewe, September 1st, 1997.
